英语作文 篇1
This pampered young lady had left her family for the first time to join the college and was feeling quite lonely on Thanksgiving. She decided to cook a Thanksgiving dinner for herself. She was narrating her first experience in the kitchen to her mother and mother really wanted to know about the results. When asked how the food was, the lady replied with a shudder that though the ready-made soup and pizza were great, she had quite a trouble with turkey. Trying to get to the root of the problem, the mother asked, "Was it burnt?" The lady replied, "Oh! I couldn't taste it mom. It simply wouldn't sit still!"

英语作文 篇3
Many years ago, when students went home after school, they had less time to play, because the teachers gave them a lot of homework. I remembered at that time, my sister worked so hard to finish the homework, she wrote it quickly when she arrived home.
After supper, she continued to finish her homework. I felt she worked too hard, she deserved to have some time to play, but she didn’t.
Not long after that time, the government had made some reform, the students don’t have to burden so much homework, they can have time to play. Now students can enjoy playing games with friends after school, I think play and study should be contained.

You made the excercise so interesting that I was always very eager to participate and practice. My English has improved so much.

英语作文 篇5
A cat who laughs is a cat. What kind of dog is a crying dog? - chocolate. You may guess what a chocolate is. Tell you, it's my dog. Its hair is the color of chocolate, a bit like dark brown, and I also like chocolate at that time, so it's named.
Why do you want to know why it's crying? In the last few days, grandma wanted to sell a few dogs too many dogs. There is no chocolate, but chocolate is crying. Don't think it is crying because of excitement. It is because it can't tear until its own kind is killed. When the dog was bought, it did not move, and it was a reaction when the dog was closed to a cage. It screams, the original two bright and clear eyes become dull eyes, hanging a few drops of tears. It struggles, gets rid of the chain, wants to save the same kind, but it has not been successful, still trapped by the chain. The man who is buying a dog does not struggle, because it understands that he can not save the same kind. It's more like a whimper, as if they are sold. For two days, it was able to see its painful expression, like mourning for his own kind.
People and dogs, though different in language, have the same feelings. It is said that people and dogs are friends, but why do people want to kill their friends?

英语作文 篇7
Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is sometimes called the "Lunar New Year" by English speakers. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Year's Eve is known as chú xī. It literally means "Year-pass Eve".
Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Lunar Calendar. The origin of Chinese New Year is itself centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions. Ancient Chinese New Year is a reflection on how the people behaved and what they believed in the most.
Celebrated in areas with large populations of ethnic Chinese, Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the new year celebrations of its geographic neighbors, as well as cultures with whom the Chinese have had extensive interaction. These include Koreans (Seollal), Tibetans and Bhutanese (Losar), Mongolians (Tsagaan Sar), Vietnamese (T?t), and formerly the Japanese before 1873 (Oshogatsu). Outside of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, Chinese New Year is also celebrated in countries with significant Han Chinese populations, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. In countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States, although Chinese New Year is not an official holiday, many ethnic Chinese hold large celebrations and Australia Post, Canada Post, and the US Postal Service issues New Year's themed stamps.
Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Chinese new year vary widely. People will pour out their money to buy presents, decoration, material, food, and clothing. It is also the tradition that every family thoroughly cleans the house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hopes to make way for good incoming luck. Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of “happiness”, “wealth”, and “longevity”. On the Eve of Chinese New Year, supper is a feast with families. Food will include such items as pigs, ducks, chicken and sweet delicacies. The family will end the night with firecrackers. Early the next morning, children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes. The Chinese New Year tradition is a great way to reconcile forgetting all grudges, and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone.
Although the Chinese calendar traditionally does not use continuously numbered years, outside China its years are often numbered from the reign of Huangdi. But at least three different years numbered 1 are now used by various scholars, making the year 20xx "Chinese Year" 4707, 4706, or 4646.
春节正月习俗的英文介绍
The Chinese New Year celebrations are marked by visits to kin, relatives and friends, a practice known as "new-year visits" (Chinese: 拜年; pinyin: bài nián). New clothes are usually worn to signify a new year. The colour red is liberally used in all decorations. Red packets are given to juniors and children by the married and elders. 英语作文 篇9
The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is famous for its beautiful landscapes, steep canyons and magnificent Three Gorges dam. This eleven long vacation, I also have the honor to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges.
Our cruise ships went up the river and passed through the Xiling gorge, Wu Gorge and Qutang gorge. The two sides are all rolling mountains. Lush trees, wrapped in clouds and mist on the top of the mountain, add a mysterious color. What is more striking is that the precipice of the two sides, the ruins of the ancient plank road and the hanging coffin at the top of the mountain are not surprising. The most interesting thing is that naughty monkeys are jumping up and down on the treetops.
Today, the last stop we visit is the historical and cultural city, the White Emperor city. Li Bai, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, had left a famous poem here: a day between the White Emperor and the clouds of the White Emperor, one day in Jiangling, the apes of the two sides could not be crow, and the light boat had passed over the mountain. It was night when we arrived at the city of white Emperor. But the White Emperor city, which was illuminated by all kinds of colored lanterns, was more mysterious.
The first attraction we visited was Liu Bei. He said that when Liu Bei was defeated in the Three Kingdoms, he gave his son to Zhu Geliang, a soldier, when he was ill. The statues of the real figures seemed to reproduce the scene at that time.
Then, the guide introduced us for the Millennium coffin. The hanging coffin is to empty the wood and put the body in. The bones of the body still remain intact. How to put a coffin into a precipice is still a mystery. Scientists have speculated that there are two possibilities. The first method is to dig holes along the stone wall of the hillside, then wood into the hole, then plank up the plank, and follow the plank upward, and put the hanging coffin into the stone cave. The second way is to hoist people on the top of the mountain and dig holes in the middle of the mountain, and hang the coffin in the cave in the same way. Either way, it is amazing and admired by the wisdom and courage of the ancient people.
Then we visited the works and inscriptions of many famous poets. It wasn't until late in the evening that we reluctantly boarded the boat and returned. This tour not only let me enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges, but also understand many historical knowledge. I believe that in the near future, more and more Chinese and foreign tourists will come to the Three Gorges tourism.
